Here is a List of Books which I have been reading recently

Influence- The Psychology of Persuasion By Robert Ciadini

'Influence: The Psychology of Persuasion' is a Psychology book authored by Dr Robert B. Cialdini based on the understanding and study of why people tend to say 'Yes?. The author has done an extensive and rigorous research on the minds of the people and their general psychology. His findings have enabled him to come up with this book on the art of persuasion and how one can use the knowledge of this psychology for their own advantage. The book is the result of a thirty-five year long extensive research which involved surveys, evidence, experiments and as well as a three year long period of study on the behaviour of people. Will be very useful to apply the concepts of Influence in our Day to Day clinical practice.

Range- Why Generalists Triumph in a Specialist World- By David Epstein

As Doctors we tend to specialise more and more- Our general thought process is that hyperspecialisation leads to success- but what we observe is that its the more generalist and back benchers who succeed more than specialists. Leonardo Da Vinci, Charles Darwin and many more were generalists who had a range of knowledge in various subjects were classical examples of this concept. This book would explain with examples of how generalists succeed more  and does it make sense to specialise?

Fluid- The approach applied by Geniuses over Centures- By Ashish Jaiswal

Whether we are in a classroom or in the outside world, we are always forced to choose who we are. Always expected to walk towards a fixed goal. Never be uncertain, never fail or never alter our course. We are either artists or scientists or businessmen. We are being constantly reminded to embrace these identities with greater force. As they say, the more we remain folded in our fields, the better specialists we are. Fluid shatters this myth by arguing that great minds who have changed the fate of humankind are actually the ones who failed, faltered or remained uncertain, yet never bothered to stay pasted to a rigid line. They were more. They were fluid. In captivating storytelling narrative, Ashish Jaiswal takes us through groundbreaking research unravelling what binds the likes of Leonardo da Vinci, CV Raman, Steve Jobs, Charles Darwin and other geniuses and why being fluid like them could be our biggest winning strategy in the age of artificial intelligence. Read to learn the approach required for world-class innovations, groundbreaking solutions and game-changing ideas.
